Users keep connecting a lot of USB drives and CDs into his computers. Whenever one connect the drive for the first time, PC saves the information about it in the Registry so that one do not wait again and again to load the drivers whenever one connect it next time. It leaves many traces in the registry after removing these drives also. It is not so easy to erase these traces easily. But either to clear this cached information to make the system lighter or to remove all the traces of the drives connected so far to make the system securer, you can use a tool called USBOblivion.
USBOblivion utility designed to erase all traces of USB-connected drives and CD-ROMs from the registry in Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows Vista, Windows 7 32/64-bit versions. The utility has a test mode of operation, i.e. without actually removing data from the registry, and, just in case, creates a .reg-file to undo any changes. There is also a fully automatic mode.
When you will run this tool you will see the list of all the connected USB drives and CD ROMs. You can select the option of “Do Real Clean” which will actually erase all this info (or just uncheck it if you wish to see that what will going to happen on checking this box).
USBOblivion also have a backup registry option which is checked by default so that you have an option of restoring this info back in case something goes wrong after deleting the catches and you wish to restore it later on. The backup of the registry being affected will be saved to your Documents folder with the .reg extension, double clicking on which will restore the registry settings.
Moreover this is a portable app and requires no installation and can be taken in a USB drive. So just visit the location below and download the right USBOblivion as per your computer/laptop.
