Users of Windows 8 who are looking for a good freeware software to create an image backup and restore the backup without booting into Windows should check out "Paragon Image Backup for Windows 8".
Paragon, the world famous data recovery and backup software provider for Windows has just released a new software named Image Backup for Windows 8. This image backup tool lets users easily backup single partition or complete hard disk and save it locally to CD/DVD, or remotely on the network. The tool uses disk-imaging mechanism and Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service to backup running applications and system locked files.
Paragon Image Backup for Windows 8 also supports Windows Server 2012 and it’s the first backup software to support the new Resilient File System (ReFS) in Windows Server 2012.
The software uses intelligent wizards to help you easily setup and complete the backup. Another cool feature of this tool is that you can extract content from backup images as well. You can compress the image to reduce the size, protect it with password, and exclude one or more file types from the backup.
It also allows users to create a recovery media (CD/DVD/USB) so that one can easily restore the previously created image backup even if your PC is not bootable.
While Image Backup for Windows 8 is free, you need to register with Paragon Software to receive the download link and product license for free.
