In a recent blog I have already written about about Start8, an application which provides access to “Run” and “Shutdown” easily. While Start8 is a useful to Windows 8 Release Preview users, there is one another better option available called Classic Shell which I want to share with you. This will disable the Metro and will restore the old Start menu totally. In addition, right clicking the Start button provides access to its Settings allowing further tweaking.
Classic Shell not only provides a user-friendly version of the Start menu but it also contains three other tools – Classic Explorer Settings, Classic IE9 Settings and Classic Shell Update. The former two allow you to re-configure Windows Explorer and Internet Explorer IE9.
After you download this application and install it you will find four APPS on the Metro screen. But, make sure that after installing Classic Shell you can not directly access metro through start button. Classic Shell replaces default metro in start from their own start button. You can access metro through right side below corner.
After installation you will find the four Apps in the Metro menu. As most users of Windows 8 Release Preview know by now you can add these Apps to your Taskbar.
Once installed just click on the Start button and you got your Start menu back.
The another thing about this Classic Shell is users who hate on start-up Metro Style Screen for those users good new. After installing this apps, when you will restart your computer you will directly see the desktop not Metro Style UI.
Just go ahead and feel free to use this app.
Download ClassicShell
